7 Answers to Questions About Acrylic Markers

Apr 18, 2024

As of 2024, the painting materials market has an increasing demand for purchasing acrylic markers. Suppliers have developed a variety of different styles of acrylic markers to cater to market demand. More and more marker pen styles are appearing on the market. Customers Do you have any questions during the purchasing process? Through review in daily work, we have compiled 7 frequently asked questions about acrylic markers and provided our answers for customers' reference.

1. What exactly are Acrylic Markers?

Acrylic markers are markers that use acrylic paint ink. Acrylic paint ink has excellent density and adhesion properties and can be used to paint on different materials. SINOART's acrylic markers use non-toxic and environmentally friendly water-based acrylic pigment inks that have passed various tests in Europe and the United States. Compared with traditional markers, the strokes of these acrylic markers are more vivid and not easy to fade. They also have strong covering power and can be layered and modified multiple times during the painting process.

2. What Types of Acrylic Markers are Available at SINOART?

Direct Liquid Markers: Just give these a good shake, pop off the cap, and you're ready to go. Keep in mind to clean the tip now and then, as the thick ink can get a bit sticky and clog up.

Valve Action Markers: These come with a cool press-to-release tip. A quick shake is all you need before you start, and you won't have to fuss over clogged tips—pretty handy, right?

Air Valve Markers: These markers use air pressure technology to drive ink flow, eliminating the need for manual valve operation. This feature allows markers to be used immediately without worrying about ink clogging.

Each type is carefully designed to provide more cost-effective options for different markets and groups of people.

Acrylic Marker Customization Services

At SINOART, we attach great importance to customization. You can have your brand name or other special content printed on the barrel to make your mark easier to identify. If one nozzle size doesn't fit all your needs, why not go for dual nozzles? You can choose two different sizes or colors on the same marker - which is pretty neat when your artwork requires versatility.

What about color? We’re talking a whopping 148 ink colors to choose from! There are multiple series to choose from, including basic, matte, metallic, glitter, macaron, etc. Each collection offers unique finishes and effects.

3. Are Acrylic Paint Markings Permanent and Waterproof?

Definitely, when acrylic markers dry up, they’re totally colorfast, waterproof, and built to last. But if there comes a time when you need to wipe them off, you’ll need a specific cleaner for the job. That’s why they’re just perfect for artworks meant to be outside for the long haul, like murals and decorative paintings—they really stand up to the weather. Plus, their bold and striking colors make them a favorite for graffiti and street art, capturing attention wherever they’re used.

4. How to Store Acrylic Paint Markers?

Because the particles of acrylic ink have larger particles, it is important to clean the tip of the marker and cap the marker after use. This will help prevent any remaining color from drying out and forming deposits that can loosen during future use and affect the performance of the marker tip. Dip the tip in warm water and clean it gently on the palm of your hand. The tip is best cleaned with clean or warm water. Dip the tip into the water and rub it gently on the palm of your hand.

Pay special attention, if you are using a straight liquid marker pen, after use, close the pen cap and store it horizontally to avoid ink settling and clogging the pen tip.

Store markers in an environment relatively cool, away from high temperatures and direct sunlight to prevent the ink from drying out. Leaving the marker inactive for an extended period may cause the ink to settle. Shake briefly before use to fully mix the ink. Do not shake too vigorously or for too long to over-dilute the ink.

5. Can You Use Acrylic Markers on Fabric?

Yes, it is possible to use acrylic markers for one-time DIY projects on fabric. But then again, acrylics dry very fast, so correcting once a disordered stroke has been executed, it's quite challenging. The area of the fabric decorated with the paint feels rather stiff after DIY. In addition, the paint is not elastic, and if applied in thick layers, it might crack and can not wear at any time.

If I may be honest, for DIY clothes projects, acrylic markers are less useful. They have more purpose and are handy for materials such as glass, stone, wood, ceramics, plastics, and metals.

6. What Packaging Does SINOART Acrylic Markers Have?

SINOART acrylic markers come in a variety of packaging options, allowing customers to choose from sets ranging from 6 to 48 colors. We offer transparent plastic boxes that are suitable for retail display, customizable patterned cardboard boxes, premium PE material pen cases, and cotton canvas pen bags. For sets with more than 48 colors, we provide wooden boxes, cotton canvas pen bags, and premium PE material pen cases. These options cater to different preferences and needs, ensuring that every customer finds a suitable packaging solution.

Custom markers often require a minimum order of 2000 units per color. For customers who do not require deep customization, we offer ready-to-ship acrylic marker sets.
